WEEKLY: Chinese EAF mills' production recovers

After falling for four straight weeks, production of Chinese electric-arc-furnace (EAF) rebounded in the past week amid improved profit margins on the mills' operations, Mysteel's latest survey showed.

The average capacity utilization rate among the 94 independent EAF steel producers throughout China under Mysteel's tracking increased by 1.62 percentage points on week to reach 52.94% during August 21-27, while their average operational rate also increased 1.17 percentage points from the previous week to 67.35%.
