On September 1, tin prices rose before pulling back, with the overall price level edging higher. According to Mysteel, the transaction price of 1# tin ingot stood at Yuan 422,000–425,000/t, averaging Yuan 423,500/t, increasing by Yuan 5,000/t. In market trading, buying interest from downstream buyers weakened, with only a few making need-based purchases. Most intraday transactions were around Yuan 422,000–424,000/tonne. End-user order growth was limited, and overall market activity was subdued. Looking ahead, although tight supply still support tin prices in the near term, hawkish signals and geopolitical risks have cooled market risk appetite. Macro factors are therefore likely to exert some restraint on tin prices, which are expected to fluctuate with a downward bias in the short term.
