Tin prices declined on August 25. According to Mysteel, the quoted price of 1# tin ingot stood at Yuan 423,000–426,000/t, averaging Yuan 424,500/t, decreasing by Yuan 1,000/t. In terms of market trading, some traders reported that downstream buyers placed bids too low to conclude deals. Downstream buying interest was generally moderate; although tin prices edged lower, they remained relatively high, while strong wait-and-see sentiment among end-users limited new orders. As a result, overall market activity was subdued. Looking ahead, overnight strength in overseas markets, a favorable macro backdrop, and tight supply are likely to support tin prices. However, the seasonal demand lull, rising inventories, and a marginal recovery in imports will cap the upside. In summary, tin prices are expected to fluctuate with an upward bias in the near term.
