DAILY: Seaborne iron ore prices increase significantly despite limited trading activities

The seaborne iron ore index increased on Monday, September 7, 2026. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased by 0.81% or $0.80/dmt to $100.15/dmt, while the corresponding 62% Low Alumina Fines index up by 0.53% or $0.55/dmt to $104.70/dmt. Both indices are based on CFR Qingdao.

Trading activities in the primary market remained stable. One parcel of MACF with a October 1-10 laycan was sold at a fixed price of $100/dmt on 61% Fe basis and other parcel of NF with an October 11-20 laycan was sold at a fixed price of $99.2/dmt on 60.7%
