DAILY: Seaborne iron ore prices continue to increase amid improved trading activities

The seaborne iron ore index increased on Monday, August 31, 2026. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased by 1.27% or $1.25/dmt to $99.45/dmt, while the corresponding 62% Low Alumina Fines index up by 1.17% or $1.20/dmt to $103.90/dmt. Both indices are based on CFR Qingdao.

Trading activities in the primary market improved. One parcel of MACF with a September 26-October 5 laycan was sold at a fixed price of $99.75/dmt on 61% Fe basis and other parcel of NF with an October 1-10 laycan was sold at a fixed price of $99/dmt on 60.7%
