DAILY: Seaborne iron ore prices increase as trading focuses on medium-grade fines

Seaborne iron ore prices moved up on Wednesday, August 26, with trading concentrated in medium-grade fines. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased $0.95/dmt to $98.00/dmt, while the 62% Low Alumina Fines index gained $0.90/dmt to $102.35/dmt. All indices are assessed on a CFR Qingdao basis.

Liquidity in the primary market remained stable. One parcel of MACF with a laycan of September 21–30 was traded at $97.40 on a 60.5% Fe basis, equivalent to a premium of $0.20–0.30/dmt against the October index. Its floating price was little changed compared with the previous deal. Market sources
