China's manganese ore prices show signs of weakening

China's manganese ore prices showed slight signs of weakening during September 2-8, mainly due to softer market sentiment as reflected in the retreat in silicomanganese (SiMn) futures market, Mysteel Global learned.

As of September 8, the price of South Africa-origin 36.5% grade manganese ore at North China's Tianjin port was assessed by Mysteel at Yuan 34.2/dmtu ($5.1/dmtu) including the 13% VAT, down by Yuan 0.3/dmtu from the prior day's high of Yuan 34.5/dmtu though staying at the same level as one
