DAILY: China's thermal coal softens as policy pivots toward mine restarts

China's portside thermal coal prices started to lose ground on September 11, halting a three-week rally as the market digested the latest policies supporting a faster supply recovery, sources said.

Last Friday, Mysteel assessed the benchmark 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at northern ports at Yuan 985/tonne ($146.8/t) FOB with VAT, unchanged from Thursday.
