WEEKLY: China's iron ore port stocks rebound

After falling for two consecutive weeks, inventories of imported iron ore stockpiled at China's 47 major ports under Mysteel's monitoring rose to 171.36 million tonnes by September 17, according to the latest survey results. The total marked an on-week increase of 1.13 million tonnes or 0.7% while also being 19.2% higher on year.

Behind the recent rebound in port-side stocks was a further increase in arrivals coupled with a decline in outflows. On one hand, during September 7-13, the volume of ore cargoes arriving at the 47 sampled ports advanced by another 2 million tonnes or 7.3% on week to 29 million tonnes,
