DAILY: Downside pressure builds on China's coking coal market

China's coking coal market remained under pressure on September 21. Sentiment stayed soft amid expectations that coal supply would recover and a bearish outlook for downstream sectors.

On Monday, Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI), which tracks coking coal prices nationwide in China, stood at Yuan 2,237.8/tonne ($334.1/t) including the 13% VAT, down Yuan 5.6/t from the previous session. The decline in MCCI came alongside lackluster coking coal trade in China yesterday, with many coking plants and steelmakers
