WEEKLY: Chinese BF mills maintain stable production during holiday

Production among Chinese blast-furnace (BF) steelmakers stood largely unchanged during the country's National Day holiday over October 1-7, with most mills maintaining normal operations during the week-long holiday break, according to Mysteel's survey.

The average capacity utilization rate among the 247 BF steelmakers under Mysteel's tracking over October 1-8 held steady at 87.8%, or nudging up by a marginal 0.01 percentage point from the last survey week before the holiday, while their combined daily hot metal output stayed flat from the pre-holiday
