MONTHLY: China's Sept FeSi output falls to 5-month low

China's total ferrosilicon (FeSi) production dipped again in September, with the volume down for a second month by 20,550 tonnes or 4.1% on month to reach a five-month low of 479,560 tonnes, according to Mysteel's monthly survey of the 136 Chinese smelters regularly monitored.

The sampled smelters account for about 90% of the country's FeSi smelting capacity. On a daily basis, FeSi output among the sampled smelters averaged 15,985 t/d last month, slipping by 147 t/d from the prior month, the findings showed.
