DCE palm oil fell notably in the night session. Its short-term fundamentals are under pressure. Malaysia's palm oil inventory in September unexpectedly rose sharply to 3.51 million tonnes, while domestic commercial inventory also surged to 1.16 million tonnes. The dual inventory-building pressure from both origin and domestic markets is relatively heavy, with spot quotations in Tianjin at around 9,540 yuan/tonne. However, the U.S. EPA policy boosts demand expectations, India is turning to palm oil purchases due to blocked sunflower oil transportation, and import profits for forward-month shipments are stimulating increased buying of cargoes, resulting in the strongest sentiment. In the short term, the market is expected to remain in weak consolidation, but downside space is limited. In the longer term, key focus should be on Malaysia's October export data, domestic inventory destocking, and crude oil trends.
