Palm oil spot basis strengthened slightly. However, after export demand recovered, the futures market failed to extend its rally and edged lower in today's night session. Recent export data have improved: the latest SGS data show that Malaysia's palm oil product exports rose 14.52% month-on-month in October 115; however, high inventories in the main producing areas and pressure from domestic port stocks persist, limiting the short-term rebound space on the futures market. On the spot side, market trading was sparse today, with downstream participants cautious and watching, and liquidity relatively weak; combined with continued increases in future arrival pressure and the current high domestic inventory, the spot basis is weak and consolidating. Buying profit for forward-month cargoes is good, and more than 10 new cargo purchases for February, September, and October 2027 shipment were added last week.
