WEEKLY: China's HRC output rebounds

Hot-rolled coil (HRC) production among the 37 Chinese steelmakers regularly surveyed by Mysteel bounced back during October 15-21 by 26,300 tonnes or 0.9% on week to reach 2.86 million tonnes, the results of Mysteel's latest survey showed. This was still lower by 11.3% on year however, Mysteel Global noted.

The rebound came after the 2.9% or 86,000-tonnes drop in HRC output during the previous survey week over October 8-14, as reported. Two sampled mills had resumed operations after maintenance stoppages during the latest survey period, lifting overall output to some extent, while one mill began a plant overhaul, the survey findings showed.
