Baoshan Steel up HRC price for domestic sales in cold Jan

Baoshan Iron & Steel (Baoshan Steel), the listed-arm of China Baowu Steel Group, decided to raise its list prices for carbon steel hot-rolled coil (HRC) by Yuan 200/tonne ($28.4/t) for China’s domestic sales in January, according to the company’s sharing on its WeChat account on December 11, despite that January is usually a cold month when China’s steel demand tends to weaken.
Baoshan Steel usually does not release the price after the adjustments, and the price increases apply to three of its four plants including the Baoshan works in East China’s Shanghai, the Dongshan works in South China’s Guangdong province and Meishan mill in East China’s Jiangsu.
