WEEKLY: China’s seaborne coking coal prices stable

Prices of seaborne coking coal sailing to China were generally stable over June 8-12, or slightly mixed on products with different specifications, according to sources. Concerns among Chinese buyers about tougher coal import restrictions led to fewer agreements being reached on seaborne coking coal, Mysteel Global learnt.

As of June 12, Mysteel’s imported coal price for premium low-volatile hard coking coal firmed by $1/tonne on week to $119.5/t CFR North China, while that for the premium medium-volatile coal softened by $1.5/t on week to $109/t CFR North China. In comparison, Mysteel’s price for domestic-mined low-sulphur (lower than
