Carbon steel hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices in China’s physical market remained steady during the first week of March, according to Mysteel’s assessment, as demand was stable, production was restrained and the rising pace of stocks accumulation lost some steam.
China’s price of Q235 4.75mm HRC moved up Yuan 23/tonne ($3.5/t) on week to Yuan 4,890/t including the 13% VAT as of March 5, the data shows, with the price briefly touching a 2.5-month high on March 3 of Yuan 4,974/t.
