Toyota to trim Jan auto output albeit still at high level

Toyota Motor, Japan's largest automaker, has informed its components suppliers that it is adjusting vehicle production at the domestic plants lower by about 10% for January from its previous plan tabled one month ago, sources in Nagoya and Tokyo shared on December 24. Nevertheless, Toyota's production volume for January will still be higher than in previous months.

The Nagoya-based company plans to produce about 240,000 units in January, about 30,000 less from its initial plan, but will keep its February and March production plans largely unchanged at about 320,000 units, according to sources.
