Tokyo Steel lifts March carbon longs prices by $26/t

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japan's leading electric-arc-furnace producer, has decided to lift its carbon-steel long-product prices by Yen 3,000/tonne ($26/t) for domestic sales in March its first price adjustment in three months but will keep its flat product prices unchanged, the company announced on February 21.

The mini-mill's previous tweak to its prices was back in November last year when it added Yen 3,000-5,000/t to its long products and plate prices, as reported. Then, as now, Tokyo Steel had said the increase was needed to reflect rising input costs and supply tightness. The latest hike applies
