Nippon Steel lifts Apr carbon steel pipe prices by $170/t

Nippon Steel, Japan's largest integrated steel producer, has decided to add Yen 20,000/tonne ($170/t) to the prices of all its carbon steel pipes, including welded and seamless pipes, for domestic spot sales from April, to offset the surge in production costs.
"We expect our production costs will rise further so we may have to make an additional increase to ensure we can supply stably," a company official warned on March 14.   Nippon Steel began lifting its carbon steel pipe prices in February last year - also citing higher production costs -
