Korea's SKC starts work on Europe's largest Cu foil plant

At a time when South Korea's three major electric-vehicle battery makers are nervously eyeing the rise of Chinese rivals, SKC Co., the chemicals and materials unit of South Korea's second-largest conglomerate, SK Group, broke ground on July 7 on what the company aims to be Europe's largest production facility for the copper foil used in lithium-ion batteries for EVs.
