China's chrome prices hit 2.5-month high on tight supply

Prices of imported chrome concentrates in China's spot market have strengthened recently, mainly in response to tightening supply amid disrupted shipments from South Africa, market sources remarked on Thursday.
As of October 19, the price of South Africa-origin 40-42% grade chrome concentrates under Mysteel's assessment had increased Yuan 3/dmtu ($0.4/dmtu) on week or Yuan 5/dmtu on month to reach a 2.5-month high of Yuan 50/dmtu at Tianjin port in North China, the country's largest port for imported chrome
