MYSTEEL: China's mid-Apr daily steel output edges down

Daily crude steel output in China reversed down during the middle ten days of this month, with the tonnage falling by 14,000 tonnes/day or 0.5% from the prior ten days to average 3.06 million t/d, according to Mysteel's survey among 247 blast-furnace (BF) and 87 electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steel mills nationwide. The dip brought an end to the continuous rise that began in late January.

During the period, some domestic steel mills conducted maintenance on their steelmaking facilities or slowed their production pace, given their shrinking profit margins, Mysteel Global learned.
