According to data recently released by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association (IVIA), Chinese car manufacturer BYD has become the best-selling electric car brand and the fifth most popular vehicle supplier in Israel in the first five months of 2023. BYD sold a total of 8,497 electric cars in Israel during this period, with Atto3 SUV being the most popular model.
In addition, China's Geely Auto Group sold 4,091 electric cars in Israel during the same time, ranking second. South Korean automaker Hyundai sold 2,618 electric cars, and American car manufacturer Tesla sold 1,863 electric cars, ranking third and fourth respectively. Another Chinese car company, Chery Automobile, became the sixth. Chery entered the Israeli market at the end of 2022 and sold a total of 7,165 cars in the first five months of 2023.
