FLASH: Phase I of 60,000 tonne lithium battery recycling project puts into operation
On January 11, 2024, phase I of Jiangrui New Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s 60,000-tonne lithium battery recycling project was fully put into operation. This project settled in the Shangli Ganxiang Cooperation Industrial Park in November 2021 and started construction in October 2022. The total investment is about Yuan 2 billion, covering an area of 150 acres. The project will be constructed in two phases, with a total design of three fully automatic production lines; The first phase investment is about Yuan 500 million, designing one fully automatic production line.
After the first phase is put into operation, it can process 20,000 tonnes of recycled lithium-ion batteries annually, produce 10,000 tonnes battery-grade lithium carbonate, produce about 20,000 tonnes by-product iron phosphate, and about 20,000 tonnes sodium sulfate. The entire system can achieve a recovery rate of over 97% for black powder, and a recovery rate of 94% for copper and aluminum powder, maximizing recovery as much as possible.
