With the successive operation of refining and chemical projects in the next five years, Chinese toluene production capacity will maintain momentum.
It is projected that the average growth rate of China's toluene production capacity will reach 2.59% over 2024-2028, mainly boosted by large-scale refining-chemical integration projects, advanced producing technology and integrated industrial structure.
However, toluene industry may face a further oversupply since year 2024, and then its capacity growth will slow down significantly, because the peak operation period of large refinery plants has gradually come to an end.
