On May 29, a grid connection ceremony for the 80MW Nabong photovoltaic project in Vientiane, Laos, was held in the Lao capital. The project, invested in and constructed by Yunnan Energy Group, is a large-scale centralized solar power station successfully connected to Laos' national main grid. It sets new records for both installed capacity and energy storage capacity for a single PV project in Laos, marking a new milestone and breakthrough in China-Laos energy cooperation.
The project is expected to generate 145.6 GWh of electricity annually, with an average of 1,437.5 utilization hours per year. It will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 132,800 tonnes, sulfur dioxide emissions by about 16.19 tonnes, and nitrogen oxide emissions by roughly 24.39 tonnes each year, delivering significant energy-saving and environmental benefits.
