Allen Jean, Chery's Italian market manager, stated that the company will begin selling Omoda and Jaecoo cars in Italy in the third quarter, making Italy Chery's second European market. By the end of 2025, Chery plans to launch three SUV models with different fuel systems for each of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, serving different regions of Europe.
Chery is one of several Chinese car manufacturers that has introduced low-cost cars (mainly electric vehicles) to Europe. Jean stated in a speech in Milan that Chery started selling cars in Spain earlier this year and will sell them in the UK and Poland by the end of 2024. Afterwards, the company will also enter other major European markets.
