China PA66 capacity breaks through 1 million t/y in May

China PA66 capacity reached 1,051,000 tonnes/year in May, up 15.37% year on year, with steady increase of China adiponitrile capacity. The 20,000 t/y unit of Ningxia Ruitai Technology, the 80,000 t/y unit of INVISTA Nylon Chemicals (China) and the 40,000 t/y unit of Yantai Huarun Nylon were put into production in succession in H1 2024. The industry is expanding rapidly.

Besides, another 230,000 t/y new PA66 capacity, including 130,000 t/y capacity, 20,000 t/y capacity, 40,000 t/y capacity and 40,000 t/y capacity of INVISTA Nylon Chemicals (China), Shanghai Shenma Engineering Plastic, Anhui Haoyuan Chemical and Shandong Longhua New Material respectively, will be put into operation in 2024. China PA66 capacity will reach 1,281,000 t/y, up 40.61% from 2023, if the above capacity can be put into production on schedule, which will intensify industry competition.
