NBS: China's Jan-May FAI up 4%, property down 10.1% YoY

China's fixed asset investment (FAI) increased by 4% on year to reach Yuan 18.8 trillion ($2.59 trillion) over January-May, according to the latest release by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday morning. Within the total, the funding in the domestic property market declined by 10.1% on year to Yuan 4.06 trillion.

In the first five months, China's privately-owned enterprises contributed Yuan 9.78 trillion, or 52.02% of the country's total FAI, gaining 0.1% from the same period last year. The tertiary industry attracted the most funding among the three economic sectors, with the amount staying unchanged on year at Yuan 12.16 trillion.
