NBS: China's manufacturing PMI dips to 50 in May

China's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector decreased slightly in May to sit at 50, edging down 0.3 point on month, according to the latest data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 31.

Despite the slight on-month decline, the index still stood at the 50-mark, indicating that business production and operations for the sector remained stable overall, said Huo Lihui, chief statistician at the NBS service industry survey center.
