Baosteel launches 4 new GOES grades for power transformers

Baoshan Iron & Steel Co (Baosteel), the listed arm of the world's largest steelmaker China Baowu Steel Group, began offering four new grades of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) on June 25, according to the company's latest release.

As a special type of steel used primarily in electromagnetic applications such as transformer cores, generators and large electric motors, GOES is seen by many global steelmakers as having a crucial role to play in the 'green' development of the world's energy and electricity industries, Mysteel Global notes. In response to
