On August 7th local time, China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) and France's Total Energies signed an EPC contract for the Iraq Latavi 1 GW photovoltaic project in Dubai. This project is the first large-scale project in the Iraqi government's photovoltaic construction plan. The Iraq Latavi 1GW Photovoltaic Project is located in the Basra Province of southern Iraq, about 70 kilometers away from the city of Basra. The project includes the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the photovoltaic power plant area and the 132 kV booster station, with an AC side capacity of 1 GW. After completion, the expected annual power generation is 2.9 billion kilowatt hours. The project will be jointly promoted and implemented by China Energy Engineering International Group, Tianjin Electric Power Construction, and Southwest Institute. It is expected to officially start construction by the end of this year and be completed in early 2027.
