The winning bidder is BYD Auto. BYD is responsible for the design, supply, installation supervision, testing and debugging, as well as subsequent maintenance of the battery system. It covers the following five regions in Saudi Arabia, with a total capacity of 2.5GW/12.5GWh and the value of this order reaches Yuan 6.2 billion. The distribution of energy storage projects is as follows:
Riyadh: 500MW/2.5GWh
Qaisumah: 500MW/2.5GWh
Dawadmi: 500MW/2.5GWh
Al Jouf: 500MW/2.5GWh
Rabigh: 500MW/2.5GWh
It is worth mentioning that BYD has previously gotten the first 2 GWh project of Saudi SEC. That is to say, BYD has secured an order amount of 14.5 GWh for the Saudi SEC project. Thus BYD's total order volume far exceeds the SEC Phase II 7.8 GWh order amount won by Sungrow in July last year, becoming the largest supplier in the Saudi market and even the Middle East market!
