In January 2025, the production of China's ternary cathode materials reached 46,900 tonnes, a decline of 15.91% month on month and a rising of 2.97% year on year. In January, most producers reduced their production due to the Chinese New Year holiday. In addition, some enterprises built up stocks in December 2024. Thus the overall production in January dropped obviously despite the rising demand for Xiaomi supply chain.
The estimated production of China's ternary cathode materials in February will reach 53,600 tonnes, an increase of 14.29% MoM and 25.46% YoY respectively as most prodcuers will resume their production after the holiday.
