On February 25th, the Battery Raw Materials Conference jointly hosted by China Minmetals Corporation and Fastmarkets was held in Shanghai. Ge Honglin, Chairman of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, stated at the conference that it is expected that the China's self-produced lithium resources (LCE) will reach at least 770,000 tonnes by 2027, an increase of 83.3% compared to 2024, effectively supporting the development needs of China's industry. In addition, the overseas lithium resource supply is also growing rapidly.
According to data shared by Ge Honglin, the supply of China's self-produced lithium resources from spodumene, lepidolite, salt lakes, and recycling in 2024 is 50,000 tonnes, 150,000 tonnes, 140,000 tonnes, and 80,000 tonnes respectively. It is expected to reach 180,000 tonnes, 150,000 tonnes, 240,000 tonnes, and 200,000 tonnes respectively in 2027, an increase of 260%, 0%, 71.18%, and 150% compared to 2024.
