According to the latest news on March 15th, the Dongying Municipal People's Government and CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd.) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Jinan City. The agreement outlines in-depth collaboration in building a zero-carbon city, exploring zero-carbon application scenarios, constructing a green intelligent manufacturing base for lithium-ion batteries, and advancing the new energy transformation of industries.
According to the agreement, CATL will initially establish a 40 GWh green intelligent manufacturing base for lithium batteries in Kenli District, Dongying City, adhering to the standards of a "zero-carbon factory + lighthouse factory." The cooperation for the second phase of the project will be initiated at an appropriate time, introducing a series of high-end green and low-carbon lithium battery raw material supporting projects. This initiative aims to create a fully integrated green intelligent manufacturing cluster for the lithium battery industry, with an annual output value exceeding Yuan 100 billion.
This also signifies that CATL has secured its second lithium battery project base within the year.
