GACC: China's Jan-Feb stainless scrap imports plunge 35% YoY

China's stainless steel scrap imports fell sharply during January-February, totaling just 13,695 tonnes, down 35.1% year-on-year, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs (GACC) on March 20.
Since 2020, GACC has combined January and February foreign trade data to align with the National Bureau of Statistics, as the Chinese New Year holiday often disrupts regular data collection and reporting.     The sharp decline in imports was primarily driven by weaker demand for imported stainless scrap from Chinese
