On the evening of April 8th, Putailai (PTL) announced that its subsidiary, European Jiatuo, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOLL Batterien GmbH in Germany. The two parties will cooperate on the MOLL Germany sodium-ion battery factory project, covering the entire life cycle of the project from product development to mass production.
According to the related data, MOLL was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Bad Stafelstein. With over 75 years of production experience, MOLL produces approximately 1.4 million traditional lead-acid batteries annually and is the designated supplier for many famous car brands such as Volkswagen, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, etc. MOLL holds an important position in the global battery industry.
According to the announcement by Putailai, MOLL plans to build a sodium ion battery factory in Germany from 2025 to 2026, with a focus on energy storage for MOLL's energy storage systems. The factory is located within the existing infrastructure of MOLL in Lichtenfels, Germany, with an annual production capacity target of 500 MWh to 1 GWh.
