Worldstainless: Global 2024 crude stainless output grows 7% YoY

Total production of crude stainless steel worldwide registered 62.6 million tonnes during 2024, increasing by 7% from the previous year, according to new data released by Brussels-based worldstainless.

Last year, crude stainless steel output in all the major countries and regions moved up by varying degrees, with the combined production of Brazil, Indonesia, Russia, South Africa, and South Korea seeing the sharpest rise in percentage terms, jumping by 9.2% on year, the association's statistics showed.
