On May 25th, China's first large-scale lithium-sodium hybrid energy storage station, the Baochi Energy Storage Station (BESS) of Southern Power Grid, was put into operation in Yunnan. The Baochi Energy Storage Station covers an area the size of 5 football fields, with an installed capacity of 400 megawatt hours and an annual adjustable electricity consumption of 580 million kilowatt hours, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 270,000 households, of which green electricity accounts for as much as 98%.
