Iron ore shipments to China via Port Hedland rise 11% MoM in May

The volume of iron ore shipped to China in May from Port Hedland, the top iron ore terminal in Western Australia, reached 45.4 million tonnes, rising by 10.5% from April and slightly higher by 0.2% compared to the same month last year, new data released by the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) show.

The robust shipments reflected Chinese steelmakers' resilient demand for iron ore over the past month, as they still maintained their hot metal production at a relatively high level.
