BYD taps voestalpine to supply steel for its Hungarian car plant

Chinese automotive giant BYD has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Austrian steelmaker voestalpine to secure automotive steel for its new vehicle assembly plant in Szeged, Hungary. The agreement, signed on June 24 in Vienna, marks a key step in BYD's European localization strategy as the company ramps up its production and presence across the continent, Mysteel Global learned.
