FMG's profits slump to 6-year low on weaker iron ore prices

Australian miner Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), the world's fourth-largest iron ore producer, reported an attributable net profit after tax of $3.4 billion for the fiscal year ended on June 30, 2025 (FY25), slumping by around 41% on year to touch a six-year low, according to the company's latest financial report released on Tuesday.

During FY25, the miner's revenue also decreased by $2.7 billion or 15% on year to $15.5 billion, the report showed. Eventually, the company declared its final dividend at AUD 0.6 ($0.4) per share, bringing its full-year dividend to AUD 1.1 apiece, which was 44% lower than FY24's AUD 1.91
