Champion Iron posts 12% output gain, 13% sales drop

Australia-based mining company Champion Iron Limited (Champion) produced 3.9 million wet tonnes (wmt) of high-purity iron ore concentrates during this year's April-June period, the first quarter of the miner's financial year 2027, according to its latest quarterly report. The total marks a 12% increase on year, the report showed.

This growth was primarily attributable to the inclusion of the Rana Gruber mine in Norway, which contributed 0.4 million wmt following Champion's acquisition's completion of the acquisition in early April, as Mysteel Global reported.
