Brazil's global iron ore exports slide further in Sept

The iron ore exports to global destinations from Brazil, the world's second largest exporter of iron ore next to Australia, declined for the second straight month in September to 36.5 million tonnes, lower by 8.9% from August and by a tiny 0.8% from the same month last year, according to the preliminary statistics from Comex Stat, a data platform for Brazil's foreign trade in goods.

Last month, Brazil shipped 26.9 million tonnes of iron ore to China, the country's largest buyer of the commodity, with the volume lower by 9.2% on month and 4.9% on year. Nonetheless, the share of China-bound iron ore cargoes in Brazil's total ore exports only slipped by 0.2 percentage
