Rio Tinto's Q3 iron ore shipments rise 6% on quarter

Rio Tinto, the world's top iron ore producer, shipped 84.3 million tonnes of iron ore (on a 100% basis) during the July-September quarter from its operations in the Pilbara region, Western Australia, its second highest Q3 shipment record since 2019, according to the miner's latest quarterly report released on October 14.

The shipments during July-September marked a 6% increase from the previous quarter, despite planned major maintenance and infrastructure works, the report noted.
