IMF lifts '25 global growth forecast to 3.2%, but warns of risks

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lifted its global growth forecast for 2025 to 3.2%, higher by 0.2 percentage point from its previous forecast updated in July according to its latest World Economic Outlook (WEO) released on October 14. The fund is holding its projection for 2026 at 3.1%, however.

The modest upward revision for this year mainly reflects stronger economic activity in the first half of 2025, which registered an on-year growth rate of around 3.5%, the report noted.
