NBS: China's Jan-Sept ROM iron ore output remains lower YoY

China's run-of-mine (ROM) iron ore production in September rose by 0.6% on year and by a larger 3.2% on month to reach 84.3 million tonnes, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), yet the total production of the feed material during January-September was 3.8% lower than the same period last year, the numbers show.

The on-month increase in September mainly resulted from rises in production among miners in North and East China after some had restarted operations from maintenance stoppages, market sources said.
